MOM'S HELPER EARLY IN THE MORNING 12/23/2008
I was working in the morning at home before work. Mia wakes up and then pulls her chair up to my desk. The next thing is her computer and then she is ready to work with me! She is my helper. She plays her songs and games!

CHRISTMAS 2008 TOP 10 LIST AT THE BATES HOUSE
10. In April Shanna started working in the doctor’s office and at home also. She has really enjoyed the training and working with patients. Shanna has got passed disliking feet!
9. Janessa graduated from kindergarten with flying colors. She was so worried about her first grade class and which friends would be there.
8. This summer was filled with swimming in the pool at our house at least once day.
7. Katie and Walt visited in July. The girls had so much fun and did not want them to leave.
6. Janessa and Mia started at Agape Christian School in August. Mia stayed there for pre-K this year and has enjoyed every minute of it. Shanna will walk in to pick her up and she is the loudest one in the room, which many of you know she is the shy one.
5. In August Mia turned 4. She had a pool, bouncer, and cotton candy party. She had a blast. She got a kitten for her birthday and she named her Fuz.
4. In August Janessa started 1st grade with Mrs. Brown. She is a wonderful teacher. Her best friend Kambree is in her class. She is scoring second in the class and loves to read. She was invited to read with third graders on Thursdays.
3. In October Janessa received the Tiger Award at school. The principal at lunch with her that day. She was mad she could not eat with her friend Kambree that day.
2. In November June came for a visit from Belgium. We had so much fun with her here that it was really hard to let her go.
1. In December Ken turned 39. Us girls made him a Hannah Montana cake with Janessa and Mia’s picture on it. We were fortunate to have Nana here overnight for two nights for Christmas. Ken had to work but we planned dinner for him. Then Janessa turned 7. She had a dog themed party with hiding bones, musical bones, and pin the tail on the dog. Her favorite gift was the Hannah Montana guitar with headset that she plays all the time full volume.
We are so blessed with such a great family and friends.

Presents from Katie and Walt 12/18/2008
Well Katie and Walt with the help of Fuz, the kitten, under the tree Mia's present with tissue paper was pulled apart. So Mia opened hers and loved it. Of course we had to let Janessa open hers too as it was from Katie:)! They loved these outfits. THANK YOU SO MUCH! We miss you both!

Mia and I made Christmas tree brownies for her school Christmas party. When dad got home for work they decorated them.

Janessa's treats for her birthday party at school 12/18/2008
We made ornament cupcakes for Janessa's birthday party at school. The girls decorated these themselves and had a blast. Janessa's teacher Mrs. Brown gives them a book and a stuffed animal. All of her classmates have to make her a birthday card. They were just adorable. She had a really good day.
Janessa 12/17/2008
Janessa was waiting for dinner and watching TV. I go to get her for dinner and this is what I find. She is so good with Fuz. She holds so still that Fuz just falls asleep or as you can see just hangs out!

Janessa had a lot of fun at her Christmas program at school on 12/17/2008. I had to work but Nana was able to go and take pictures. After it was over Janessa took Nana to her classroom and asked her to stay! She loves her Nana.

Here is Janessa. We ordered these two things from school this year. She does not like the hat as I told her she wouldn't! But she said it is warm though mom! I love this girl!
